Урок английского языка в 6-м классе

Тема: My native town.

Задачи урока:

Социокультурный аспект:

·        увеличение объема знаний об историческом прошлом родного города;

·        знакомство учащихся с достопримечательностями Волгодонска;

·        духовно-нравственное воспитание через использование регионального  компонента

Развивающий аспект:

·        развитие способности к логическому изложению содержания высказывания, развитие коммуникабельности, умению осуществлять репродуктивные и продуктивные речевые действия– к подбору речевых средств, адекватных цели и ситуации, к импровизации, к планированию своего высказывания, к воображению;

·         развитие творческих способностей учащихся; развитие способности к самостоятельному труду;

Воспитательный аспект:

·        формирование патриотического отношения к своему городу,

·        формирование ценностного отношения к историческому прошлому и настоящему своего края и чувства гордости за свою малую Родину;

Учебный аспект:

·         развитие речевых умений (говорить, писать, общаться);

·         формирование лексических и грамматических навыков речевого умения в монологической форме

Сопутствующие задачи: развитие умения воспринимать на слух с целью извлечения конкретной информации.

Подготовительная работа: индивидуальная работа с отдельными учащимися, отработка грамматических структур, опорных фраз и лексики по теме “Город”, беседы по краеведению, работа над презентацией группы учащихся совместно с учителем.

What do you know about history of Volgodonsk?

1. Говорение. (монологическая речь)

Student 1. (слайд 7, 8)

    Volgodonsk is one of the youngest towns in the country. It was founded in 1950. People came here from different parts of our country. They took part in the building of the plant “Atommash” which is known not only in our country but abroad as well.

   The name of the town is connected with the two great Russian rivers: the Volga and the Don.

   It’s population is 171.000 people. Our town is a big industrial, scientific and cultural canter in the south-east of Rostov Region.

Now let us listen to the description of the flag and the coat of arms of     Volgodonsk.

 

The flag is white. It is divided into 3 parts: two white and yellow. The white colour is a symbol of peace and wisdom. The red colour is a symbol of history. The blue colour is a symbol of cossacs. In the middle of the flag there is a tulip, an anchor and symbols of ataman’s power ‘bunchucks’. The author of the flag is Nickolaichick V.I.

The coat of arms of  Volgodonsk is a heraldic board divided into 3 parts: blue, yellow and red. In the middle of the coat of arms there is a tulip, an anchor and symbols of ataman’s power ‘bunchucks’. The author of the coat of arms is Nickolaichick V.I.

Volgodonsk is devided into two parts: the old and the new one.

The Administration of the town is situated in the old part. You can see the monument to the workers in front of the Administration. Gorodskaya Duma and the Chief of the town work there.

The old part has the main street named after Lenin. The Street is long and green. There are a lot of shops and  offices. If you want to see the places of interest in our town, you can walk along the main street. It leads to the main square.

The center of the old part is Victory Square and Victory Park. In the middle of the square you can see the monument to Defenders.  A lot of people come here on the 9th of May to watch the parade. A lot of concerts and festivals are held here during the year.

Student 6. (слайд 14)

Victory Park is the largest park in Volgodonsk. It  was founded in 1965. The construction of the Park was completed in 1985. In the centre of the park there is a fountain. The fountain has  a sculptural composition to warriors-winners.  There is a large star in the center of the fountain with two steel soldiers holding the banner of victory. The author of the composition is Vasil Palyakov.

It is worth saying that the fountain is located at the crossing of two Central Park avenues-Avenue of military glory and maternal glory. This was the idea of the sculptor Polyakov and architect Botjanovskiy. "Garden of memory" was founded On April 22, 1985. The trees were planted by mothers, wives and children of those who never returned from the war. Children and their parents like to walk in the park in any season. In summer they can go on rides, admire the beautiful flowers. In autumn we can enjoy the  beauty of colourful trees. In winter if it is cold enough we can skate in the skating rink. Maslenitsa and the birthday celebrations of the town take place in the park.

The bus station is in Morskaya Street. It is the busiest street. The streets in the old part are nice and green. They are named after the great Russian writers Pushkin, Gorkiy, Lermontov, Chekhov, Sholokhov. You can see monuments to them in the streets. (слайд 17)

 The names of the Streets are also connected with important events in the history of our country: the 30 th anniversary of Victory, 50 years of the USSR, Pionerskaya. There are some poetic names: Zhemchuzhnaya (Pearl), Vasilkovaya (blue cornflower), Yezhevichnaya (black berry), Malinoviy (Raspberry) Lane, Izumrud (emerald) Drive.

In the streets of our town you can see the monuments to the cossacs’s atamans Platov and Baklanov. There are also monuments to the defenders of our country in  different periods of history. (слайд 19)

Stroiteley Street is the main street in the new part of the town. Komsomolskaya Square is in the center of the new part. There is a monument to the young builders of Atommash in the middle of the square and a new modern cinema “Komsomolets”.

Student 11. (слайд 22)

The symbol of our town is the monument Peaceful Atom which is situated in the center of the town. There is the  Informative Center of the Atomic Station, the Palace of Culture after Kurchatov and a lot of monuments in the streets of our town.
